How Florista.ph Killed Our Valentine's

Fun Fact: In the X years that G and I have been together, he NEVER once gave or surprised me with flowers on Valentine's Day. It's not his thing. There was even a time that I told him that I will pseudo-surprise myself with a bouquet of flowers on V-Day and I will just reimburse the amount from him.

Three years I have been nagging him to give me flowers on Feb 14 (because commercialism duh!) but it was futile...until this time. To be honest, days before Valentine's, I had an inkling that he has a surprise because he asked for my office address. He never asks where I work. I gave it but maybe 10 days before The Day, he asked again. Apparently, our address is so hard to find on Google Maps (this is true). Actually, we had a misunderstanding one Saturday over this whole thing. So stressful! Well, at this point, it was totally obvious that he will give me something so I told him "That better be not flowers, G!" and he just laughed.

February 14 Philippine time came and to be honest, I wasn't really excited about receiving flowers. I guess I became indifferent and numb the last 8 years? I was chill until 2PM, but when 3PM came and still no sign of a Valentine surprise, I texted G and updated him on the situation. I thought that he was already asleep (we are in an LDR, btw) but I received an instant reply. I freaked out! Apparently, he was also waiting for it to arrive because he wants to see my reaction. He said "I can't even sleep because of the anticipation!" Poor boy, and he had work the next day. I told him that he should go to sleep and that I'll be okay. I understand that it was a super busy day for delivery boys. It was settled that I'm not getting any flowers today...

...until I went home.

At around 7PM, an unknown number texted me. It just said "Ma'am Cory..." so I ignored him. 30 minutes later, he texted again with the same message. Ignored. At about quarter to 8, he texted again but this time, he said that he will have an operation. That's the time I replied. Apparently, it was the delivery guy. He told me that since our office is already closed, he just left the roses at the guard house. I texted him back "Thank you Kuya for ruining our Valentine's, really." He said, "Pasensya na Ma'am." Oh well, what can I do? I got my flowers the next day.

Now, I'm generally a positive and happy person and it would take a lot to piss me off. Stupid people tops the list btw, and the people behind Florista.ph pretty much falls into that category. I am not angry at the delivery guy per se because I understand that it was probably their busiest day of the year, but this entry is directed particularly to the owners of Florista.ph.

It's okay to set a limit for your orders for that day. Think about your delivery guys and the logistics. I know that this is probably the only time that you are making money, but when it compromises the quality of your work, better do something about it. And oh, when I received the flowers, they were already wilted. Bottom line, get your shit together!

G and I agreed that this was a fail and he even said that because of what happened, he WILL NEVER AGAIN send me flowers on Valentine's Day and he's a man of word. So thank you Florista.ph for killing it for us. I fucking hate you!
Showed this to my friends on FB a little too late because I had to calm myself and because we are not cliche.

This is how I really feel about Florista.ph--unhappy.
